SCANNER RESULTS

NOTE
Interpretation: The scanning of your skin as a measure of your body's carotenoid levels is much more accurate than measuring from your blood or urine, since body fluids' antioxidant concentration can be manipulated in only a few hours or a day, whereas it takes 4 to 6 weeks or longer for carotenoids to reach the skin. There is no way to "beat" our scanner skin test.

PHARMANEX BODY DEFENSE INDEX™
Individuals who are scanned will obtain an immediate reading of their own antioxidant activity—their Body Defense Score. As they participate in the LifePak antioxidant supplementation program, consumers can track their Body Defense Score for evidence of improved antioxidant activity and protection. They can also compare their scores to the scores of others on the Pharmanex Body Defense Index™, a summary of all participants scanned worldwide. Consumers will then be empowered with a personalized assessment that can be used to develop an antioxidant defense strategy. No other program like this exists today.

Note about the "SAFE ZONE": After scanning thousands of people, I personally have not had ONE person reach the SAFE ZONE with conditions of obesity, cancer, or smoking. As a result, we began referring to this range as the safe zone.

Overall Reading Ranges & Correlated Behavior Patterns:
  • Less than 10,000: Very Weak Defense - People in this category indicate conditions with high oxidative stress, such as smokers and/or those with very bad eating habits; definitely not supplementing and rarely eating fruits & vegetables.
  • 10,000 - 17,500: Weak Defense - About half the USA population scans below 17,500; our national average is near 17,500. In this range are those who probably don't eat many fruits/veg., and/or your nutritional supplement does not work (is not absorbed by the body and/or does not contain what the label proclaims).
  • 17,500 - 25,000: Marginally Weak Defense - This is nearing daylight: you're either eating a couple daily servings of fruits and veggies or you're taking supplemental antioxidants; nutritional supplements may or may not be working.
  • 25,000 - 35,000: Moderate Defense - Healthy diets start here, but may not do enough for long-term disease prevention. You can reach this range with 3 to 5 servings of fruits/veg., OR supplementing. It's not difficult to reach this level in a matter of months.
  • 40,000 and above: SAFE ZONE! - We advise everyone to shoot for this range, at a minimum. Large numbers of scans have shown this to be the foundational average range for those taking 2 LifePaks per day. Combine them with a few daily fruit/veg. servings and you're here. Everyone should strive for this level.
  • 40,000 - 55,000: Strong Defense - A program of healthy eating and regular supplementation maintained over time can vault you to these heights, but minimizing antioxidant robbers (alcohol, high body fat, caffeine, soda, excess sugar) is also a must.
  • 55,000 and higher: Optimal Defense - True dedication to years of proper food selection and discipline is the standard for the optimal range. Less than one-tenth of one percent of people reach this altitude.
    LifePak Users - Typical Results So Far:
  • 20,000 - 25,000 Averaging 1 LifePak/Day
  • 30,000 - 35,000 Averaging 2 LifePak/Day
    These averages still reflect very weak eating habits. With just slight effort, combining higher fruit/veggie intake with LifePak usage can usually help you reach the "SAFE ZONE" range in less than 6 months!

    Preliminary Case Study: 1300 People Scanned
  • The mean score was 19,281;
  • Margin of error was 5-6% (this will be reduced to 1.5-2% in mass-produced machines);
  • 75% of all those scanned scored below 23,100;
  • 50% scored below 17,500, in the "Weak or Very Weak Defense" zone, which means they're not close to the recommended levels.

    Maybe the most significant result from this study was the almost unanimous reaction of those scanned to "raise their levels." This is the desired and expected reaction; with the documented clinical studies we'll soon possess, a correlation between a low scan and the subsequent motivation to take supplements will be established. A tremendous increase in scan scores is the ultimate end goal, but this increase begins with an individual's first scan, to identify where they are. Right now, 99.99% of Americans have no clue where they are.

    JOHN CINI'S (The TechnologyDoctor) NUMBERS
    I got scanned for the first time last week (June 28, 2002), and I've been taking LifePak twice a day religiously since 1993 (almost 10 years).

    In addition, while I don't eat nearly enough fruits & vegetables, I do make sure I get at least one serving of each every day. I'm a 36-year-old non-smoker & non-drinker, I exercise intensely at least 3 times a week, and I eat a fairly low-fat, high protein diet.

    You can look at the computer screen and see my score. From the results of many other Pharmanex Reps who also take LifePak twice a day, everyday, a score over 35,000 seems to be very attainable, even without the exercise and alcohol-abstinence.

    Aug. 16, 2002 Update: I was scanned today on the same machine and received a score of 44,238.
    Oct. 21, 2002 Update: I was scanned today on one of the new machines and scored 54,000 (I've been eating a lot more veggies lately, for some reason ...)
    Feb. 22, 2003 Update: I picked up my own personal scanner today, and scanned twice with great accuracy, between 52,000 and 54,000.
    Apr. 02, 2003 Update: I've now personally scanned hundreds of people and observed some amazing scores, both good & bad. Last night I scanned 2 MDs and one of the docs is a fantastic-looking 78-year-old who vaulted 59,000 on his scan! A few weeks ago I scanned a 74-year-old woman who topped 71,000, the highest score recorded on my machine! If you met these people, you’d NEVER be able to guess their ages. They both look fantastic and have the energy and physique to boot. They have aged the way we all want to, as incredible examples to us all. I know soon we’re going to be able to draw a HUGE correlation between a high scan score and anti-aging, which will truly be revolutionary.
